Intellectual Property Specialist, responsible for Rights Protection Cooperation Programme

The Rights Protection Cooperation Programme has been available on Allegro.pl since 2004. It is dedicated to cooperation with brand owners and protection of their trademark rights and copyrights.

Since its launch, the Programme has been joined by over 1,500 Polish and global brands representing various industries: clothes (Adidas, Zara, H&M, Burberry), cosmetics (Nivea, Shiseido, Unilever, La Prairie), auto moto (Fiat, Honda, Ford) and jewellery (Pandora, Yes, Bulgari).

Each partner has its own web page presenting the brand and contact details, which are of great educational value for both sellers and buyers.

In our everyday work we cooperate not only with brand owners, but also other entities. A few years ago we joined forces with the Polish Society for Nature Protection “Salamandra” (protection of endangered species), the Office of Electronic Communication (equipment non-compliant with applicable regulations) and the National Heritage Board of Poland (antiques). Since last year one of our partners has also been the Wisława Szymborska Foundation.

The team dealing with the Programme is also active at a European level. In cooperation with other signatories (e.g. eBay, Amazon, Unilever, LVMH), with the support of the European Commission, we managed to commit to the Memorandum of Understanding on the sale of Counterfeit Goods via the Internet.

For 5 years, we have also contributed to the organisation of an annual conference for brand owners participating in the Rights Protection Cooperation Programme, attended by speakers representing law enforcement authorities such as the police, the Customs Service and the Prosecutor’s Office. The RPC Programme also cooperates with some of our other marketplaces, e.g. Osta.ee and Aukro.cz, as well as our partners at Ricardo.ch.

Given the experience gained over the years, programme representatives attend professional conferences and workshops, as well as share their knowledge with the Polish Chamber of Patent Attorneys, JWP Foundation and Modnaulica.pl.

From the outset, the team has been focused on transaction security by protecting intellectual property rights. During the last few years, not only did we manage to acquire new partners, but also to establish better cooperation in the fight against trade in counterfeit goods and endangered species. We believe that further development of the RPC Program will bring more advantages to the site, our partners and, most importantly of all, our users.
